Meet the artist

Claudio Magrassi was born in 1969 in Tortona, Italy, where he lives and works. He graduated from the Art School of Turin. Then deepened his painting techniques by studying ancient art, particularly from the 1600s. He frequented the ateliers of established artists, including Luigi Benedicenti. He immediately favored oil painting, which became his main technique.

From a young age, he was drawn to figures arising from inner instinct. Claudio reworked the human figure, creating faces and bodies with a personal code. His work blurs the line between human and deformed, while maintaining a clear figurative style. The dark tones in his paintings come from his love for horror, gothic, and fantasy cinema.

In 2018, he began exploring sculpture, driven by a desire to experiment and give life to his creatures. His sculptural work has received praise from critics.
