Pilar Garcia Art Original Art for Sale

Meet the artist

Pilar García Sanz explores the intimate terrain of the unconscious through raw, introspective drawing charged with emotional tension. Her work conjures fragmented figures and ambiguous bodies suspended between dream and reality—where beauty unsettles and symbols speak of inner truths.

Since 1990, she has combined her artistic practice with teaching in disciplines such as artistic and archaeological drawing, printmaking, and painting. For Pilar, education is a space of constant questioning, where creation and reflection go hand in hand.

Her visual language draws from expressionism, surrealism, and magical realism, with influences from Goya, Francis Bacon, Louise Bourgeois, Jenny Saville, and Cindy Sherman. While she experiments with various media, drawing remains her primary tool—a medium of immediacy and honesty, allowing her to trace paths into the subconscious.

She integrates traditional techniques with a contemporary gaze, creating images marked by psychological tension, transformation, and vulnerability.

Pilar has exhibited in Cádiz, Ávila, and internationally in Sweden and Denmark, with works in private collections. She also develops printmaking projects during residencies in Asturias, including PACA and Decero Creativo, where the graphic process becomes a space for experimentation.

All of Pilar Garcia’s art comes with a certificate of authenticity.
