“Archon” is a unique oil on canvas painted in 2024, measuring 54 x 65 cm (21” x 25.6”). This original work exemplifies Martín de Diego’s masterful ability to fuse metaphysical symbolism with baroque intensity and a deeply atmospheric palette.

The painting presents a towering entity—part deity, part sentinel—emerging from a darkened realm. With elements reminiscent of ancient idols and futuristic armor, Archon explores the tension between authority and obscurity, power and silence. The intricate textures and subtle glows evoke a haunting presence, as if the figure stands guard over a forgotten dominion or an inner psychic frontier.
