“On the Edge of Blades” – Limited Edition Print by David Bou
Unframed – Printed on Couche 170 g Magno Sappi Satin
“On the edge of blades” is a limited-edition digital artwork by Lithuanian-born artist David Bou, known for his introspective visual language rooted in vision analysis, active imagination, and psychoanalytic symbolism. Printed on Couche 170 g Magno Sappi Satin paper, the piece preserves the raw intensity of Bou’s original digital sketches, created in moments of pure, unfiltered clarity.
Set against a backdrop of dark green and black, two crimson figures delicately balance atop a narrow wooden fence, their postures tense with fragility and inner confrontation. The scene evokes a psychological threshold—where the conscious and subconscious meet in a precarious dance. There is no story, only tension, presence, and the suggestion that collapse is just one breath away.
Bou’s practice is deeply influenced by Carl Jung’s theories and centers around visualizing fleeting visions that erupt spontaneously from the unconscious. He describes these ideas as flashes—ephemeral and powerful, they must be realized quickly before their energy fades. Unlike dreams, which he finds less potent, his visions emerge like chemical reactions: intense, symbolic, and emotionally charged.
This artwork, like many of Bou’s, functions as a symbolic stage where archetypes and emotional tensions take form. His palette—often limited to black, red, and white—here expands with greens and earth tones to explore duality, fear, and balance. The figures are not individuals but universal echoes of the self navigating its own inner blade’s edge.
Sold unframed. Each print includes a certificate of authenticity detailing the title, specifications, and edition. If you wish to receive the piece framed, please contact us to discuss available options.
