We are incredibly proud to welcome Denis Abazi to our Dark Art community.

Denis Abazi, born in Italy (BL) on June 29, 1996, is a visual and conceptual artist whose work often delves into the intricacies of human experience. Graduating in Painting from the G. B. Cignaroli Academy of Fine Arts in Verona in 2021, Abazi’s artistic journey has taken her across borders and cultures.

In 2019, she embarked on a transformative six-month Erasmus exchange in Granada, Spain, studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts. During her time there, she explored sculptural works and engaged in performative projects, shaping her artistic voice and expanding her creative horizons.

Currently residing in Barcelona, Abazi’s artistic endeavors are deeply influenced by her surroundings. She delves into research on physical violence, drawing inspiration from the indelible traces of wartime violence that still resonate in the streets of Catalonia’s capital.

Her artistic activity spans between Spain and Italy, with her creations reflecting a fusion of cultural influences and personal experiences. Each piece is an original expression of her vision, with meticulous attention to detail and a profound exploration of themes.

This particular artwork is called “The Dance” and is part of a fifty piece edition, each a testament to Abazi’s unique perspective and artistic prowess. Created in 2023, this linoleum print on paper measures 30×40 cm, capturing the essence of her exploration into physical violence and its enduring impact on society.

Abazi’s work transcends boundaries, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexities of the human condition. Her art serves as a mirror reflecting the world’s beauty and its darker facets, encouraging dialogue and introspection.
