The Wind in Heart is a provocative limited-edition digital print by Lithuanian artist David Bou (Dovydas Baksys), a visual storyteller whose creations emerge from spontaneous visions drawn from the depths of the unconscious. Printed on high-quality Couche 170 g Magno Sappi Satin paper, this piece captures the intense force of a symbolic emotional storm.

In the center of the composition, a red tree bends violently under an unseen wind, its branches contorted like exposed nerves. The image vibrates with urgency—fueled by inner chaos rather than meteorological force. There is no landscape, no horizon, only the tree and its psychic turmoil. As with many of Bou’s works, the scene becomes a stage for the raw energy of the subconscious to play out, untouched by narrative or rationality.

Influenced by Jungian psychology, Bou channels spontaneous visions using the method of active imagination, bypassing the analytical mind to preserve the integrity of what he calls “idea-flashes.” These are not dreams, but sudden symbolic messages—emotional impulses that he renders swiftly to retain their power. The palette of red and black, frequent in Bou’s practice, symbolizes a clash between emotion and shadow, heart and void.

This print speaks to those moments when something within us twists in the wind—when we feel both exposed and transformed. The Wind in Heart is not meant to be understood, but felt.
